Christina’s Story

Originally from Surrey BC, Christina now lives and works as a self-employed freelance graphic designer and illustrator in the West Kootenays BC. Interested in art her whole life, particularly character design and animation, Christina received her diploma of Fine Arts in Nanaimo BC where she learned various art mediums and later her diploma of 2D animation in Vancouver, BC. In recent years, she became interested in graphic design as a profession and became proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. All of Christina’s initial designs are first sketched on paper, scanned, outlined, and ultimately coloured and shaded using Adobe Illustrator to become high quality vector graphics. Everything is lovingly designed and created from home and all products are created and printed locally. For years she created personalized cards and gifts for friends and family using her illustrations and loved that they made others happy. In 2020, Christina decided to combine her passions and launched her entrepreneurial business, Christina’s Creations Graphic Design & Illustration, which focuses on two distinct elements - graphic design and illustration. Since launching, Christina has created tangible products using her original illustrations which include greeting cards, stickers, keychains, magnets, children’s apparel, backpacks and tote bags which are sold online as well as at craft markets and are also carried in various retail stores in the Kootenay region. Christina also loves to illustrate various portraits of families, children, and even pets which make great unique gifts. In addition to the creation of her own products, Christina provides professional graphic design and illustration services to a variety of clients in both small and medium-sized businesses across Canada. Services include character design, brochures, flyers, posters, logo design, signage, business cards, social media advertisements, and custom apparel. The sky's the limit.
